Thoughtfully decorated, full of artwork and clean-as-as-whistle, this 3-bedroom, tri-level terraced house is well-situated on a pretty residential block lined with trees, blossoming wisteria and neatly kept gardens. Margaretta Terrace sits in the heart of Chelsea, but offers excellent privacy and quiet while being just steps away from the bustle and busyness of the Kings Road.
The house is 3 stories but makes use of an interior spiral design around the staircase, with small rooms off the half landing levels and main rooms on each full floor. Because of this, guests here can enjoy great privacy while ensconced in their quarters and multi-use rooms, or come together to make use of the large communal spaces.
Elegant Retreats International stayed here in November 2011 and loved it, especially the books, the large warm sitting room, the terrific location.
Ground Floor: Study, Kitchen, Conservatory Dining Room, TV room with fold-out couch.
Half Level: Single bedroom, small en suite bathroom.
Second Story (First Floor): Large L-shaped sitting room and TV room.
Half Level: Standard Queen bedroom, en suite.

To the immediate left of the black and white tiled, arch-mirrored entry hall on the ground floor is the quiet, very private study. It has a bay window out to the garden, a broad black desk and tons of books lining built-in bookshelves. It’s a perfect space for writers, for those in London on business or vacationers required to do some work on holiday.
Down the hall past the hallway stairs is a large, modern kitchen with plenty of counter space, an island with double sinks, and a casual low bar with barstools for conversations with the cook or a casual snack.
There is a double oven, electric cook top, dishwasher, microwave and a Fridge/Freezer, as well as plenty of cook and serve ware, and a plethora of terrific cookbooks to peruse in case cooking is on the docket for your London stay.
Through the kitchen is the conservatory dining room with a unique and intricate mosaic tile table seating 8 and a chandelier hanging under the the glass ceiling above. Pretty art lines the walls. French doors open out to a small enclosed patio with a simple water feature.
Continue through the dining area to the right is a bonus room with TV, fold-out couch, small kitchenette, attached bathroom and additional half-bathroom. This area would be perfect for a cook, nanny or personal assistant traveling with a group, or perhaps for the surly teenager who has promised not to have any fun on this holiday at all (don’t worry, they will).
SITTING ROOM WITH TV ROOM
The spacious L-shaped sitting room boasts high ceilings, thoughtful touches, stylish, comfortable seating and tall french doors out to a small decorative balcony with views to the pretty tree-lined street below. There is are two 1940s red leather chairs, a grand wingback chair, plaid sofa and a classic mid-century Eames reclining chair by the fireplace. As custom in this house, there are bookshelves absolutely filled with wonderful tomes to enjoy.
The back part of the sitting room offers a comfortable TV viewing area with SKY TV, DVD, a large sofa and of course, more books! A tall window lets in more lovely light and overlooks the back garden.
Ground Floor: Extra sitting room with bathroom and fold out couch.
Half-landing: Single bedroom with en suite shower room.
Second half-landing: Double bedroom with en suite half bathroom with tub and handheld shower.
Top floor: King Master bedroom with large en suite bathroom with tub and separate shower stall. Washer & Dryer are located in this bathroom as well.
This three-bedroom, four-bathroom vacation home is terrific for couples, families or singles traveling together. Each bedroom is en suite and on a different level and position in the house, offering excellent separation of space. The Master bedroom is much larger than the other two rooms, you may have to flip a coin with your traveling companions, though the cozy Queen bedroom is a very nice alternative indeed. The single room is snug but comfortable, something of a romantic bachelor’s room.
