Flat Description:

This traditionally decorated South Kensington 3rd-story flat is nicely situated in a white Georgian building across from Onslow Gardens. Having been well-loved over the years, it is therefore quite comfortable and has inspired a loyal Anglophile fan base. In fact, we’ve worked with several clients who return again and again to this flat above other more modern flats, preferring it for their home-from-home in Central London.

The light through the large sitting room windows is terrific, with nice views to Onslow Gardens below. The roof terrace is a nice place to sit with the morning paper, for a spot of tea, or a nice lunch, to soak up the afternoon sun.  The location of this London rental, in close proximity to two tube stations, is excellent for touring the best of London.

A recent update has brought in new carpet, fresh paint and some nice freshening up. This lovely and loved flat in a perfect location has a new lease on life.

ENTRY HALL
The large entry hall has three half-circle wooden tables, a small bookcase and doors opening to the kitchen, sitting room, one of the bathrooms and each bedroom. It is large enough to double as a dining hall if desired.

SITTING ROOM
The furnishings in the charming and sunlit living room are vintage, with antique wood pieces including a desk, a chest, and a drop-leaf table. There is a two-seater sofa, two stuffed armchairs and a few smaller wooden chairs, as well as a decorative fireplace and a small television.

KITCHEN
The small eat-in kitchen has an oven, stovetop, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a small cafe table by the window seating two, however the drop-leaf table in the sitting room can be used in the hall or the kitchen for 4 guests to dine together.

BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS
Master Queen en suite Bedroom: Queen bed, ensuite bathroom with soaking tub shower-over-tub. French doors open to a sunny furnished roof terrace.  This bedroom is up a few steps from the entry hall.
Double Bedroom: Standard double bed. French doors open to a balcony.
Second Bathroom: Bath with handheld shower.

Location:

The nearest underground stop is Gloucester Road approximately a 5-minute stroll. The South Kensington station is also close, about 8 minutes, at most.

There is a terrific Farmer’s Market just a few blocks away on Bute Street (Saturdays 9am – 2pm) where you can mingle with local residents and pick up flowers, artisan foods, fresh meat, fish, produce and baked goods.

Restrictions:

No pets, and no smoking allowed at this tried-and-true South Kensington flat.

Rental Details:

Minimum 7 night rental.  Additional nights will be pro-rated per night at the weekly rate.

Included in the rental price is the cost of heat & electricity, use of appliances, weekly linen change if staying longer than 7 nights, departure cleaning, and a Greeter who meet you at the flat to show you around, introduce you to the particulars of the property, the appliances, and answer any questions you have.

Check-In/Check-Out:

Check-in time is after 12pm, though sometimes earlier arrivals can be arranged.
Check-out time is before 10:30am, though sometimes late check-out can be arranged.

Arrivals before 8:30am or after 4:30pm will require transfer service (car hire from the airport or train station) with our London transfer partners. Your driver will have the keys to your flat and will let you in. The Greeter will be by the following morning. The Greeter who meets you on arrival will return at departure to check you out of the property at the end of your stay.

Security Deposit:

The property requires a security/damage deposit between £ 350 – £ 1000 to be held by credit card until after departure.

Accessibility Notice:

The Cranley Gardens flat is on the third story (Second Floor in UK) and though there is a lift, there are a few steps at the front of the building, as well a three interior steps between the master bedroom and the rest of the flat, so anyone with limited mobility should be mindful of these.

Activities:

South Kensington is a terrific place from which to explore London. Some of the nearby attractions include the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, Royal Albert Hall.

Harrod’s and Hyde Park are within casual walking distance, the theater district, shopping and other museums (National Portrait Gallery, The British Museum) are all just a quick tube ride away.
