Flat Description:

Sweet, spotless, recently updated lower ground floor flat at the front of a prestigious South Kensington building. Stylish mid-century modern decor, good lighting, and a perfect location make this a great apartment rental for a London holiday or extended stay, whether on business or leisure.

This self-catering vacation rental is modern, sleek, warm and dry (none of the damp you sometimes find in garden level flats). Large, comfortable Queen bedroom with plush carpeting, bathroom with bathtub and shower-over-tub, and generous open plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen area with wood flooring and large windows, looking up onto the steady stream of passers by in a most popular and bustling area of the City.

LAYOUT
Lower ground floor flat at the front of the building, accessed by interior stairs or the elevator (lift).

Enter through the front door to an open entryway with a closet to the right and a side table ahead on the left. Straight ahead is a door into the bathroom. A door on the far right leads into the King bedroom. Across on the left is a door into the good size sitting room & kitchen.

SITTING ROOM/DINING AREA/KITCHEN
The combination sitting, dining and kitchen area is nicely laid out with good options for cooking, eating and relaxing. Wood floors, plenty of bright, adjustable lighting, and a bright white lightwell outside 3 bay windows, looking up to the street (which sits just about at eye level). This is a quintessential London rental apartment.

Mid-century modern design informs the open-plan room, with two Eames lounge chairs framed under the bay window and moveable leather cubes for footrests or occasional tables. Wide bottomed easy chair, 2 (almost 3) seater grey flannel couch, cowhide rug, and small built-in bookshelves dividing the kitchen counters. Large flat screen TV, radiator, and reading lamps.

Tasteful white marble dining table with four molded plastic Eames dining chairs. Interesting art hangs on the wall. Across from the dining table is the open kitchen. While not a large gourmet cooking style kitchen, it is open, and well-fitted, nicely laid out with all the modern conveniences: dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, hob (stove top), microwave, fridge and good storage.

One could cook a good fancy meal here, but certainly one could also choose to avail themselves of all the excellent pre-prepared and partially-prepared gourmet foodstuffs from nearby Waitrose, Sainsbury, Tesco or Marks & Spencer, as well as take-away from one of many excellent restaurants in the area.

BEDROOM
Master Bedroom with Large Queen Bed:

5′ 6″ Queen bed in a spacious bedroom with sandy-colored carpeting and tons of closet stoarage space, quietly located with a small window into a private and inaccessible interior courtyard. Private. Quiet. These are not always words found in conjunction with a stay in London self-catering apartments.

BATHROOM
The bathroom, located off the hallway between the sitting room and bedroom, has a bathtub, shower-over-tub, sink & toilet.

Location:

The nearest underground stops are Gloucester (4-5 minutes) and South Kensington (5 – 6 minutes). The immediate neighborhood boasts some excellent food providers, markets, restaurants and take-away shops. Museums, Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Chelsea and Knightsbridge shopping are all within easy walking distance.

This is a perfect location in London for first-time-to-London’ers and practically-an-ex-pat repeat visitors alike. There is literally something for everyone in this area of South Kensington, with the rest of London’s fine features at your fingertips.
